Central Library

Library

The Library and Information centre is an education and research resource center (ERRC) with multiple resources which cater to the needs of the students, faculty and staff. The Print Journals, E-Journals, Project Reports, Video Lectures, C.Ds, Newspapers and Magazines etc., promote awareness and profundity among erudite. The library has more than 40449 titles which comprise academic, research, competitive and general books. Apart from subject related books, the library also has a good collection of general books in variegated fields like :


  • Classics
  • Fiction
  • Biographies & Autobiographies : Relating to great Scientists
  • Personality development (Careers, Placement & Group discussions)
  • Self help (puzzles, brainteasers)
  • Spiritual
  • Philosophical
  • English Language and Training (ELT)
  • Ethics & Human values
  • And also books like Dictionaries, Encyclopedias and Almanacs & Handbooks.

INDEST-AICTE consortium membership, enables access to nearly 276 journals through IEL online facility .

All students, faculty and staff members of the Institute are entitled to make use of the Library facilities. Initially setup in 2001, the Central Library moved to its new independent Palatial building in April, 2012.

Sailent Features

  • The college has a good central library building with an area of 2070 Sqm.
  • Stack Area : 828 Sqm.
  • Reading Area : 776.25 Sqm.
  • Library is automated, consists of Library Management Software and OPAC (Campus wide Access). Learning resources were barcoded for issue and returns.
  • Memebership of DELNET (Developing Library Network).
  • Audio & Video course material Collection.
  • E-resources Collection (Viz. e-Books,Journals,course materials, Tutorials and Question Papers) of different Universities & Organizations like NPTEL, MIT, Stanford and Berkeley etc.
  • Online access to the Digital Library portals of various International Professional bodies (Viz. IEEE, ASME, ASCE etc.)
  • "Initiation of the Freshman", "Comprehensive Optimum Utilisation" Awareness & Orientation Program(s) conduted by library personnel regarding various facilities, resources and services available the library for the first year - B.Tech, M.Tech, M.B.A. , M.C.A and Diploma course students.
  • Comprehensive Optimum Utilisation program - will be conducted periodically to motivate all members (Students/Faculty/Staff) in order to help them utilise Library resources in academic, research and career aspects

Reference Books are issued only for quick reference and overnight.

Rules

  • Learning resources are issued to all eligible members according to their entitled eligibility.
  • For the rules regarding replacement of lost book kindly contact the Librarian.
  • Loss of book must be reported immediately. Late fees, if any, will be charged till the loss of book is reported.
  • If the original library book is returned after reporting it as lost, the fine will be calculated till the date of its return.
  • No book in damaged condition will be accepted from the borrower. Mutilated or spoiled books will have to be replaced by the borrower.
  • The borrower should check the book thoroughly for missing pages, chapters, pictures etc., while borrowing the book.
  • Books are reissued only if there are no claims.

Reference Services

  • The Library maintains a separate reference collection consisting of rear prints, academic reference books, encyclopedias, dictionaries, directories etc.
  • The Reference Section facility is extended to the students, staff and faculty of the Institute from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on all working days. All the reference books are maintained in separate stack area.
