The Department of Civil Engineering was established in the year 2011 with a vision to strive towards quality education, research and consultancy. Civil Engineering is one of the oldest and broadest engineering discipline which has been an aspect of life, since the beginning of human civilization. Efforts have been made to provide high quality technical education to students with a view to make them successful professionals. In order to attain the pre-defined objectives, focus has been made on Outcome Based Education, which facilitates the students to analyze problems, design and develop solutions and usage of modern tools, by making him/herself as an ethical Engineer with best of the kind leadership traits. Department is offering B.Tech (Civil) with an intake of 60 and M. Tech (Structural Engg.) with 18 students. Department comprises well qualified and proficient faculty to direct the students in reaching their goals.
To be a Department that strives towards quality education, research and consultancy in Civil Engineering.
M1:To provide broad and high quality education to its students for a successful professional career.
M2: To serve the construction industry through dissemination of knowledge and technical services to rural community and professionals.
M3: To inculcate ethics and human values, effective communication and leadership qualities among students to meet the challenges of the society.
1.Analyze, formulate and solve Civil Engineering problems.
2.Excel in Civil Engineering and in other allied fields.
3.Demonstrate leadership qualities.
1.Engineering knowledge: Apply the knowledge of Mathematics, Science, Engineering Fundamentals and an Engineering specialization to the solution of complex Civil Engineering problems. K3
2.Problem analysis: Identify, formulate, review research literature, and analyze complex Civil Engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions using first principles of Mathematics, Natural Sciences and Engineering Sciences. K4
3.Design/development of solutions: Design solutions for complex civil engineering problems and design system components or processes that meet the specific needs with appropriate consideration for the public health and safety and the cultural, societal and environmental considerations. k5
4.Conduct investigations of complex problems:Use research-based knowledge and research methods including design of experiments, analysis and interpretation of data, and synthesis of the information to provide valid conclusions.k5
5.Modern tool usage: Create, select, and apply appropriate techniques, resources, and modern Engineering and IT tools including prediction and modeling to complex Civil Engineering activities with an understanding of the limitations. k3
6.The engineer and society: Apply reasoning informed by the contextual knowledge to assess societal, health, safety, legal and cultural issues and the consequent responsibilities relevant to the professional Engineering practice. k3
7.Environment and sustainability:Understand the impact of the professional Civil Engineering solutions in societal and environmental contexts and demonstrate knowledge of and need for sustainable development. k3
8.Ethics:Apply ethical principles and commit to professional ethics and responsibilities and norms of the Engineering practice. k3
9.Individual and team work: Function effectively as an individual, and as a member or leader in diverse teams, and in multidisciplinary settings. k6
10.Communication: Communicate effectively on complex Civil Engineering activities with the Engineering community and with society at large, such as, being able to comprehend and write effective reports and design documentation, make effective presentations, and give and receive clear instructions. k2
11.Project management and finance: Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the Engineering and Management principles and apply these to one’s own work, as a member and leader in a team, to manage projects and in multidisciplinary environments.k6
